Good sleep is a vital contributor to adrenal health. The following are some tips to help improve your sleep and your adrenal health. Five tips for better sleep:
- Avoid alcohol within 3 hours before going to bed. It is better to have a glass of wine with dinner than close to bedtime.
- Consistent sleep hours- It is best to try and go to sleep at the same time daily and get up at the same time. Falling asleep by 10:30 pm is best as falling asleep after 11 pm does not promote quality sleep. Getting around 8 1/2 to 9 hours in bed is good for your body.
- Avoid caffeine after 2 pm.
- Avoid interactive screens (iphones, ipads, tablets) right before bed as these can be stimulating and make it harder to fall asleep.
- Meditate and or journal before bedtime to help relax and prepare your body for sleep.
